MZ RIDE Cadillac Lyriq - Tesla Roadster 2026 Unveiled: What It Means for Luxury Chauffeur Service in NYC

What Tesla unveiled

Tesla revealed the second-generation Roadster at an event outside Waco, Texas, on October 15, 2026. The car is a low, angular two-seater finished in white, and Tesla says its design draws on the SR-71 and F-35 aircraft. Elon Musk called it “the best of the last of the human-driven cars,” which sets it apart from Tesla’s push toward self-driving vehicles such as the Cybercab.

The headline of the show was a demonstration in which the car used fans and cold-gas thrusters to climb an inverted ramp, spin and land, and to lift itself over other Tesla vehicles. Tesla describes the car as able to “fly” in short hops. These are Tesla’s own demonstrations and claims, and they have not been tested independently.

The three versions

  • Performance: two seats, described by Tesla as “road ready,” with active aerodynamics.
  • Thrust: two seats, described as “race ready,” with rear cold-gas thrusters that Tesla says allow 0 to 60 mph in under one second.
  • Rocket: one seat, described as “air ready,” with ten thrusters. Tesla lists it as invite only.

Tesla says all three versions exceed 230 mph and have a range of 300 miles.

Price, reservations and delivery

Tesla did not announce a price at the event. Its website takes reservations of $50,000 for the Performance version and $250,000 for the Thrust version. Musk said Tesla will build the car in 2028, so no customer will be driving one in New York before then. The Roadster has been delayed several times since 2017, so dates may still move.

Why MZ RIDE is interested

Our clients often ask for something beyond a standard sedan or SUV: a car for a proposal, a milestone birthday, a brand launch or a photo and film shoot. MZ RIDE is interested in adding the new Roadster for special requests once Tesla delivers it and it is cleared for regular road use in New York. We will share updates on this blog as Tesla confirms pricing, delivery dates and road rules.

A two-seat car carries one guest with a chauffeur at the wheel, so it would suit short, special-occasion rides rather than airport transfers or groups. For those, our fleet of sedans, SUVs and Sprinter vans remains the right choice.

Electric luxury you can book today

You do not have to wait for 2028 to ride electric. MZ RIDE already runs the all-electric Cadillac LYRIQ alongside its Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series, Cadillac Escalade and Rolls-Royce Phantom. For a special night out this season, our holiday lights tour is a favorite.

What we will watch for

  • Final pricing and the delivery schedule for each version.
  • Whether the thruster features are allowed on public roads.
  • Seating, luggage space and charging details.
  • When the first cars reach customers in the New York area.
