Manhattan Cruise Terminal

The Manhattan Cruise Terminal is on the Hudson River in the West 50s, at Piers 88, 90 and 92. It is close to Midtown hotels, Hell’s Kitchen and Times Square, which makes it convenient for pre-cruise stays. Embarkation mornings bring heavy traffic to the pier entrances, so a planned drop-off point saves time.

Brooklyn Cruise Terminal

The Brooklyn Cruise Terminal is in Red Hook, on the Brooklyn waterfront. It has limited public transit, so most passengers arrive by car. Ships such as Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 have sailed from here. Allow extra time for the approach through Red Hook.

Cape Liberty Cruise Port

Cape Liberty is in Bayonne, New Jersey, and serves departures from the New York area. It is often paired with a night in Manhattan or Jersey City, and Newark Airport is a common connection point.

Embarkation-day timeline

  • Check your cruise line’s boarding window and arrival guidance.
  • Choose a pickup time that reaches the terminal at the start of your window, not earlier.
  • Confirm the terminal and pier on your documents; do not rely on a habit from a previous trip.
  • Keep documents accessible, not packed in a checked bag.

Luggage

Cruise luggage is heavy and bulky. Tell us the number of bags and passengers so we send a vehicle with enough room, and expect help loading and unloading at the pier.

Disembarkation and flights

On the last day, ships arrive early but disembarkation can take a couple of hours depending on your group. Follow your cruise line’s guidance on booking onward flights, and book the pickup at the terminal so you are not searching for a ride in a crowd.

Airport and hotel connections

We meet passengers at JFK, LaGuardia and Newark and take them straight to the terminal or their hotel, and we do the reverse after the cruise. See our cruise terminal car service, Manhattan, Brooklyn and Cape Liberty pages.

Pre-cruise and post-cruise hotel nights

Many cruisers arrive a day early to avoid missing the ship. Midtown hotels are close to the Manhattan terminal, Brooklyn hotels suit the Red Hook terminal and Jersey City or Newark hotels suit Cape Liberty. Give us your hotel and boarding time and we plan the ride so you arrive at the start of your boarding window.

Family reunions and celebration cruises

Large groups often arrive on different flights. We coordinate several vehicles and meet each party at the airport, so everyone reaches the ship without hunting for taxis. A single point of contact makes the day easier for the organizer.

Embarkation-day weather and traffic

Storms, road closures and construction near the piers can slow the approach. Leave a buffer, confirm the pier and follow any updates from the cruise line. Your chauffeur monitors traffic and adjusts the route on the day.

What to keep in your carry-on

  • Passports and visas, cruise documents and boarding passes.
  • Medication and essentials for the first night, in case your bags arrive later.
  • Chargers, a change of clothes and anything valuable.

Ending your trip

On the last morning, the wait to disembark can be long, so confirm your pickup time with us after you know your disembarkation group. For flights the same day, give us the flight time and we help you choose a sensible pickup.
